Have you seen the Boucle trend lately? No, well take a look at these beauties…..
So when faced with a blank wall in my new office, I knew I wanted to put a low profile bench there to lounge in for for clients to have a seat when meeting. I just so happened to have this really dated beauty hanging around my house.

Not bad, but definitely not great. And obsessed with something boucle I decided to take matters in my own hands. Here’s how I made my own one-of-a-kind Boucle upholstered bench:
I chose more natural legs I picked up from Home Depot and actually cut them down with my saw to a shorter length.
I added some foam to the top, this isn’t necessary but mine needed some extra cushion. Then I covered the entire bench with quilt batting I picked up from Hobby Lobby. Pulling it really tight, I stapled it all around the bottom.

I purchased some boucle/sherpa fabric from Hobby Lobby. Because I was covering the ends with wood I didn’t worry about sewing seams on the corners. I just created a tight hospital corner on each end with the fabric stapling directly into the inner wood frame of the bench.

I wanted an arched arm on either side of the bench so I bought a piece of smooth very light wood from Lowes and tile printed out a half circle template on my printer. I taped this in place and cut around the template using my jigsaw. After cutting each piece, I sanded the edges and painted only one side with Rustoleum Smokey Beige matte spray paint.
I pre-drilled some screw holes in the wood and propped it up using a stool to hold in place while I screwed it to the inner wood frame of the bench using wood screws. I then touched up the visible screws with some of the same paint.
Here’s the big reveal:

Not too shabby for a repurposed piece of old furniture I saved from joining a landfill. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments and if you’re going give this trend a try!
